The Coleridge Way by Ian Pearson
The Coleridge Way is a 51 mile long distance path, starting in the Quantock Hills at Nether Stowey, Somerset and finishing in Exmoor at Lynmouth, Devon. A 100 mile circular route can be constructed using the the new England Coast Path and the Castles and Coast Way.
Those walking the Coleridge way will travel through ancient woodland, Domesday villages and remote moorland yet, with easy to follow paths and never being more than a few miles from civilisation, the route is safe and perfect for the first time long-distance walker. A step by step route guide can be found HERE.
Coleridge Way accommodation is varied with options all along the route. Those starting from Nether Stowey may like to stay with us at The Old Cider House which is en route and two minutes away from the start. Other options can be found at Quantock on-line and Visit Exmoor.
Coleridge Way Guidebook – The Coleridge Way Companion Guide
This comprehensive guide is invaluable when walking the Coleridge Way. Not only does it contain a route guide, it also tells the story of the path, contains helpful hints and tips and has myriad of stories and anecdotes to bring the path to life and enjoyment to all those walking it.
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your book and how it has inspired me to walk the section of the coast path coast path which you covered… I had never walked the whole of the Coleridge Way. I finally got to do it just over a week ago… The route has to be the most beautiful in the country but I do have a strong bias for Exmoor and the Quantocks. I ordered your book … It was brilliant. I know most of the old legends but I learned about Lucky Ike’s Lane and the memorial to Little Imp and Sir Robert’s Chair and Solvitur Ambulando … it was simply a delight to read about the places that I love so dearly. Thank you so much . ( Viki – Torquay)
